    Children Learning Together

When it comes to the education of children, we believe in a happy balance between innocence and experience. We recognize and respect children’s need to enjoy the wonder of their early years and at the same time be prepared for life in the information age.

Montessori Day School encourages children to pursue individual interests in the classroom, helping them to gain an early enthusiasm for learning and a strong individual foundation on which grow through their developing years. Explore more information about each age-based program below.

    Primary Program

Our Primary Program creates a unique, hands-on environment where young children can flourish and learn in an interactive manner. In this program, you will see children expanding their social skills as well as their intellectual abilities.

    Elementary Program

Our Elementary Program fosters the development of strong reasoning, imagining and social skills, encouraging children to learn and work together cooperatively, while also allowing students to work at their own pace. The program is separated into Junior Elementary for 1st – 3rd grade and Senior Elementary for 4th – 6th grade.

    Middle School Program

Our Middle School Program helps students navigate the growth and change of early adolescence and serves as the culminating experience for our Montessori students. The program prepares them for the transition to the high school program of their choice and encourages a high level of independence and self-direction.

    Specials & Summer Programs

Our Arts, Music, and P.E. specials, along with our Extracurricular offerings and Summer Programs, allow children to be engaged in hands-on activities, while learning and practicing the Montessori principles of respect, independence, and self-regulation.

    • Randomized controlled studies have found superior outcomes on academic and pre-academic assessments for children who attended Montessori preschool and elementary schools.
    • Studies have indicated positive long-term impacts when comparing high school students who attended Montessori preschools and elementary schools to a control group matched on gender, race/ethnicity, socioeconomic status, and high school attended.
    • When examining classroom practices, studies found stronger academic gains for children in preschool classrooms implementing the Montessori Method.

    Socio-Emotional Outcomes

    Creativity

    • Research from France found a positive impact of Montessori education on creativity. In one study, authors found stronger results for Montessori students on all creativity measures across first through fourth grades.
