Meet the Teachers:

My name is Dawn Quinn.  This is my sixth year as the Junior Elementary teacher at Montessori Day Schools, Lakeshore Campus.  I graduated from Northern Arizona University with a dual degree in Elementary  and Special Education.  I taught for five years for Mesa Public Schools in a first and second multi-age classroom. I then decided to be a stay at home mom for my twin babies.  After five years of motherhood, I found Montessori Day Schools for my daughters’ preschool experience.  I was a very involved parent within the classroom.  After two years of observing the Montessori environment, I went back to school for my Montessori certification.  I was glad to have the opportunity to become part of the community as a teacher. I have loved watching the school grow and improve each and every year.  Montessori Day Schools is my home away from home.

August 2014

Welcome back Junior Elementary!  We have so many exciting and new things planned for this year.  To start off in August, we will be having the First Great Lesson.  We will explore all about our wonderful earth, space and life over millions of years.  All of our budding scientists, artists, musicians, mathematicians, writers and readers will find something of interest within our environment.  Starting off the year will be a blast!  Caution: Be wary of volcanoes.
